CI Renew partnered with Six Flags Great Adventure to complete a 23.5-megawatt solar installation in Jackson, New Jersey. The project combines a 12.5 MW ground-mount solar array covering 40 acres with an 11 MW solar carport system spread across three large parking lots.

One of the largest solar systems in the state, Six Flags was among the world's first solar-powered theme parks when the project achieved commercial operations in 2019. Net metering allows Six Flags Great Adventure to generate clean energy for its operations and export excess power to the grid, contributing to the company's goal of becoming a fully net-zero carbon facility. To facilitate interconnection of the system, 1.5 miles of transmission lines were constructed, connecting the various arrays to a new on-site substation. The installation of a new substation on-site has increased electrical capacity for the Greater Jackson area at no cost to the community.

“This is a thrilling day for our company. This project represents a giant step toward becoming a net-zero carbon facility. We look forward to decades of environmental stewardship with our partner, [CI Renew].”
John Winkler, President, Six Flags Great Adventure Park
