Ardagh Group is a global supplier of infinitely recyclable metal and glass packaging, operating over 100 production facilities in 22 countries across five continents. In partnership with CI Renew, the organization completed a 5.5 MW net-metered solar power project in 2019 at its Bridgeton, New Jersey manufacturing facility.

A key component of Ardagh's goal of reducing emissions across operations by 42% by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions by 2050, the project includes 2 separate fixed ground mount arrays connected under a roadway and adjacent wetlands by a 1,500 LF directional drill. The arrays are net-metered to the Bridgeton facility, generating 7.5 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually to supply approximately 22% of its electricity needs.

Beyond environmental benefits, the solar installation provides Ardagh with more cost-efficient power and security from energy market volatility while demonstrating its commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices with customers and stakeholders.

"We are pleased to have partnered with CI Renew on a state-of-the-art solar facility in Bridgeton, N.J., which will supply renewable energy for our glass manufacturing facility and thereby contribute to a further reduction in our carbon footprint.”
Bertrand Paulet, President and CEO, Ardagh Group, Glass – North America.
