The Howard County portfolio includes 19 projects across 11 sites in the region. The project sites are a combination of public and privately owned properties that when combined in a network, support the overall goals of Howard County.

The East Columbia Library is a public facility within the Howard County portfolio. With both a carport and rooftop mount system.  The rooftop portion will be completed in Summer 2023, the carport is expected to be completed in late 2024.  The canopy is a virtual net metered project providing power cost savings to a number of Howard County owned facilities.

The Howard County Power Purchase Agreement is the largest of its kind in the state. Through the PPA, CI Renewables will, at no cost to the County, construct, operate, and maintain the solar panels and associated solar energy generation equipment at its sole expense. These solar arrays will be throughout our community on both public and private land. From rooftops to carports to ground mounts, we’re maximizing our ability to capture solar energy at our libraries, firehouses, police stations, our new circuit courthouse and more.
